一種新的血液透析裝置，據信可有效排除體內的伊波拉病毒
根據 Business Insider 新聞報導與 Wyss Institute 自己發的新聞稿 訊息看出，
一種結合基因改造蛋白質與磁性珠（beads）的微小物質，注入患者體內血液中，透過類似「洗腎機」的循環裝置，用體外的磁力裝置，循環過濾人體血液中的有毒物質或有害病原體pathogens（如伊波拉病毒），並將「清潔」過後的血液輸回病人體內，以恢復健康。

包附磁性物質的蛋白質，捕捉到有害物質的影像
「這是一種在找到解藥之前，先使用過濾排除技術，降低其體內的病原體濃度，爭取時間減緩發病危害器官的一種終極手段」。
由於透過基因改造蛋白質作為「黏結」有害物質的手段，可以降低透析過濾排除其他有益於人體的物質。
這比傳統洗腎機排除毒物更有效，也對人體的負擔不要那麼大。應該早一點普及的說！
